One of the stops we’re going to make is in Strafford, Missouri, for Route 66 Days.  I’m very excited about this, as it’s sort of a homecoming for me.

1975 was the first time I laid eyes on a Hammer Dulcimer, and it was in Springfield, Missouri, just a few miles west of Strafford.  It was a moment of magic for me…for from the first time I heard one, I just KNEW that I HAD to have one, and learn to play it.

Now, 30+ years later, I’m still playing.  And I get to play on Route 66.  It’s a dream come true.

We’ll be playing at the Strafford Route 66 Festival on Saturday, September 12th from 12-1PM and again from 5-8PM.  We hope you’ll stop by and say hello!  And, if you want to check out the festival online, the link is here.

Our friends Matt and Alicia Anderson are currently taking their Route 66 tour…you can follow their progress and see daily photos here!

Seeing all fo these makes me especially anxious to get started on our trip…it’s just over 2 months away!
