One of the stops we’re going to make is in Strafford, Missouri, for Route 66 Days.  I’m very excited about this, as it’s sort of a homecoming for me.

1975 was the first time I laid eyes on a Hammer Dulcimer, and it was in Springfield, Missouri, just a few miles west of Strafford.  It was a moment of magic for me…for from the first time I heard one, I just KNEW that I HAD to have one, and learn to play it.

Now, 30+ years later, I’m still playing.  And I get to play on Route 66.  It’s a dream come true.

We’ll be playing at the Strafford Route 66 Festival on Saturday, September 12th from 12-1PM and again from 5-8PM.  We hope you’ll stop by and say hello!  And, if you want to check out the festival online, the link is here.

Wow, we’ve got a lot of catching up to do, don’t we, gang!  Here is a hodge podge of what’s going on with us.

Our own Mandy Marie has been nominated as the Best Roots Artist of  the year from the Indy magazine Nuvo.  Way to go, Mandy!  You deserve it!

Gabrielle has a project going called  “The Road Home Concert Series”.  It’s a concert series where all the proceeds go to benefit two recovery groups.  You can read all about that here, and, if you’re in the Indy area, please, stop in and enjoy some great music and help some very deserving groups!

Rick and Holly have several exciting projects going.  Rick’s new solo Hammer Dulcimer CD,  “Memories of Home” has been released and folks seem to really like it!  You can hear a couple of tracks off of it on Patchwork’s MySpace page.

Patchwork is being featured on two upcoming compilations,  including  “Give the Girl a Chance” which benefits The Tenderness Tour and we’re quite excited about it.  This album features not only Patchwork, but Carrie Newcomer, Henry Lee Summer, and many other fine artists.

And, a couple of weeks ago, we all met for a photo shoot, so I’ll leave you with one of the photos!  Have a great weekend, everyone!
